Grand is the one where we pushed. Coming into North Fresno meant building a room on purpose, materials chosen deliberately, the atmosphere considered, the standard raised on the coffee and the service both. Zack's phrase for what we were after was the royalty of God: the idea that a King is worth some care in how you build.

The proof isn't the decor, though. It's the traveler who sat down with a burrito, overheard the table next to him talking about Christ over their morning cups, and left calling it a light in the darkness. That's the room we were trying to build. We didn't make it beautiful to impress anybody. We made it beautiful because of Who it's for.
