Kuppa Joy Coffee Roasters — Fresno, California Est. 2017

It Started In A Garage.

One sample roaster. No idea how far the smell of roasting coffee would carry.

Today that garage is a 5,000 square foot roastery supplying all Kuppa Joy cafes and wholesale partners. Scroll the story, it gets bigger as it goes.

Act I — 2017

The Garage

Ordered coffee was easy, it just showed up on the doorstep. But we had no control over quality, and no way to perfect the tasting profile this valley knows and loves. So we bought a small sample roaster and learned the craft batch by batch, in a garage.

This section is small on purpose. So were we.

Act II

The Small Warehouse

The garage ran out of room before the ambition did. A small warehouse, a bigger roaster, and Kuppa Joy cafés pouring coffee we roasted ourselves. The Central Valley profile taking shape: dark chocolate and nutty.

Growing pains, roasted daily.

Act IV — The Vision, Kept

To the Farms

The vision was always to one day make it to the farms, to see the impact of Kuppa Joy at the farmer level. In Guatemala, we met the families growing our coffee. We invest in the crop, provide coffee plants, and fund agronomists who help small farms produce more. A better cup for us, a better living for them.

Relationships, built face to face.

Why it tastes this good, black
"When coffee is roasted with quality and craftsmanship, cream and sugar are not needed."
