For the last year, we have had an outreach team of baristas and “friends of Kuppa Joy” who have faithfully served coffee and treats to those living in and around Poverello house. During this time, we’ve gotten to know the volunteers and staff of Poverello and have partnered with them in serving their clients. From Christmas Eve to Thanksgiving morning, we have been welcomed in to build relationships and give love to clients at the Poverello House. It has been a true blessing having a consistent and safe place to go to continue to see our friends week after week. This has streamlined opportunities to bring specific gifts to those we meet from Christmas gifts to clothes, and even some of their favorite Kuppa Joy drinks (shoutout to Robin with her Blood Orange & Doobie with his chocolate milk). We are proud of what Poverello House does and are thankful to be on the same team in this fight to end homelessness.
My name is Rick I was at the Poverello everyday from May to after Thanksgiving. I couldn’t believe the kindness and love Kuppa Joy done for us by providing iced coffee, different type of sweet cakes, chips and Kuppa Joy Bibles I would see them Tuesdays and Thursdays. They helped everybody feel good and feel loved. I even seen them on the weekend towards the holidays show up and even help with Trunk or Treat for the families and kids at the Poverello. They gave out clothes, candy and treats, books to everyone. I seen them every week, I’m not homeless anymore I work now. Thank you all for helping our community with your kindness and love. I hope someone gives you all great things in life, you are the leaders in are community.
Rick, this is McKenna with our Kuppa Cares outreach team. It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve our community, one cup of coffee at a time. I am overjoyed to hear you are doing well and working now! Keep up the great work, and know you have people praying for you! Thank you for reaching out!
